Right! I'm taking the plunge and am getting Skywatcher AZ EQ6-GT Mount! For software to program the go to, will it work on my kindle fire HD or do I need to buy a laptop? I've not got a laptop no more, decent pc but can't carry that around!

How about a cheap used BM thinkpad for this use, you will get a refurb on the bay for £50 or so

You'll be able to run some stuff off the kindle but I dont think everything you would need. Especially if you are wanting to get into AP. Then you really will need a laptop.

They have wireless adaptors. But its more that most programs wont run on a tablet.

true, but then you have to remember a kindle fire runs a heavily modified version of android, you cannot even access the android / google store without rooting the device
