Lovely image, with a nice bright tail!

You raise a very interesting point about the processing the tail.  The tail is changing quite fast - it is very obvious over the period of just one hour - just see this on some of the animations posted here.  To get a bright noise-free tail means stacking many sub-exposures together.  But as soon as you do that it ends up blurring the detail from the changing tail.  So you have a choice between a noisy, dim tail with good detail or a bright, noise-free tail with blurred detail.  Or compromise somewhere between the extremes. 

It's a choice the astro-imager has to make.
