First one of the new year. If the forecast is true should be able to get some H alpha later if I'm lucky. This one was caught in a gap in the trees, have to wait until midday now for next opportunity

Crossed fingers on the H-alpha, David. The white light you've take is a lovely image. I've just tidied the house, so before work I will head out and have a little peak myself .

Well I got back out with the PST but the seeing had dropped off pretty badly. Visually the main group is quite impressive but even then the poor seeing is evident. Best of the images below. 20% of 1000 frame avi.

Got my h-a done, switched to white light, and the seeing had fallen off completely here! Didn't bother hitting record, it was that poor! Thanks for the view.

Nice white light and pity about the seeing for Ha. I have found a huge difference using my Quark in a morning (half way reasonable) to the afternoon (grainy and lacking fine focus and detail), just shows you how much difference a bit of decent seeing makes.

I have only one suggest, hire a chain saw and get those trees cut down. Or if they are in a neighbours garden ask them to hire a chain saw and prune them a bit (by which I mean from the stump upwards). We have plenty of trees in forests so can loose a few in the urban/village environment?

Great shots david. Did you notice the detatched prom just below that main prom, was quite big but very faint on my camera was down to 1 frame a second at one point

Thanks Craig. Yes I did see the detached prom visually but failed to capture anything useful prominence wise.
