Can I mix data but remove stars from one set?

My situation:

FSQ data is nice

ZS71 data has iffy corners.

Id like to take the nebulosity information out of the ZS71 Data and intergrate it into the FSQ data.

Am I asking to much or is there a way?

Could you scale images from both scpoes say using Registar / Maxim so they are the same size,  remove the stars from the ZS71 data using Stratton which I think you have then merge images as layers  in PS ?

Of necessity, Straton must leave 'holes' but these are 'filled in' by interpolation. I'd be tempted to use Registar (I used to use MaxIm with disparate images but Registar does a better job) to get the stars of both data sets in exactly the correct position before processing and then combining the two sets of data. Blending the Straton star-removed layer into your FSQ stack would give you the most flexibility.

When in the process would you do the star removal? I presume the final step would be intergrating all the subs?

I think Pixinsight can also combine images of different scales....  I am working at this now.

I would do the star removal early on so that any stretching that you carry out on the nebulosity isn't translated into a risk of bloating the stars - you can keep a copy of the stars and process them separately if you want to.

The way that I would do it would be to use Registar to scale and register both sets of data. I'd then use Straton to remove the stars in the data set that you want. Then do whatever processing.

Registar will need the stars in the data to allow registration and scaling.

How do you feel this looks? I think the stars have lost a little too much punch atm.

ARGH horrible artifacts on the stars in the darker areas...... that didnt work out as intended
