Nice sketch nick. Must have been great this morning providing you're wrapped up.

What filter is that, I had a look with a UHC for the first time the other night. Think it might have been you that suggested it, GRS really stood out, but it was a bit eerily greenish.

Yep a cheerful SW UHC filter is good on planets. This time I tried a Moon filter, then as above a light red 23A. The 38A ( dark blue ) is supposed to hit the belts, GRS and disc.

Worth getting a few cheap ones to try. Jupiter was so very bright it helped to clods down the aperture to 120mm with a card cut out, hurrah !

Nice drawing Nick and you saw the two big blue festoons on the northern equatorial belt. As you say the GRS is a very pale pink. More to come in the next few months.....
