I find that a RDF on the camera is all i need to line up, the liveview screen will then show most objects and if that fails a quick 1 second exposure will allways work for me.

Thanks Alan. I couldn't see anything in my live view last time though. My ISO only goes up to 1600 so maybe that's the problem?

Don't see why not.

The tricky bit will be getting the camera and finder aligned properly, but perhaps that could be done during the daytime to make life a bit easier.

Well, a medium length dovetail would be sufficient, I'd think: http://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/skywatcher-dovetail-mounting-plates.html

Then you probably just need a 1/4" UNC bolt to hold the camera to the dovetail.  Or perhaps one of these would be neater: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neewer-Tripod-Mounting-Quick-Release/dp/B007CDKUFS

Obviously there may be a bit of drilling and/or exchanging of screws to get everything to fit, but I think that's the basics.

I'm doubtful, looking at some of the great images posted on here ISO 800 seems to be quite popular.
