Pegasus galaxies

Seeing a cloudless sky and a reasonable forecast, the VX10 was packed up for a ride to the quarry. Not sure why but the MW was not the best, sky transparency was down and my SQM only registered a 21.1 mag     This site is usually at least 21.5 mag or better, must be the trans that brought it down.

My main mission was ( has been ) the Cocoon neb, flailing away for 4 attempts, and now a 5th...and " I didn't see nothin' " ! lol!

I figured I'd go view Stephans Quintet..... Ummm No ...I did however pick up a few galaxies including NGC 7814,7448,7489,7457 7331 and my prize of 7332 with a companion NGC 7339. Some were pretty faint with NGC 7331 being the brightest.

Spurred on by YKSE I tried IC 1296, next to M57 and thought no way I would be able to see it, but Yong was right, it was faint, but viewable. I never even knew it was there before, thanks YKSE!

Nice haul. I have only once seen Stephan's Quintet, and that was with Olly's 20" behemoth under very dark skies. Haven't spotted IC 1296 yet.

Sounds a fine session to me..

I still struggle with that Quin even with my 14 inch...I can see a few of the five on a good night!
