tried a slightly different approach to the capture of the surface detail, to see if i could get more contrast and detail.

normal settings gain 750, exp 1/92, gamma 30

new settings gain 260(min), exp 1/92, gamma 40

the usual set up Coronado PST/DMK21au618 2000 frames stacked around 500. i think it has slightly more contrast, but not a huge amount. looked more when i was capturing to be honest.

Absolutely fantastic :) :) :) first is definitely better.

I would always stay on minimum gain, the Sun provides plenty of light so why introduce noise. On gamma however, I am not sure what your neutral gamma is but for the DMK41 it is 100, I would never personally go below 85 otherwise you will lose detail, you can add contrast later in Photoshop.
