M51 through the haze

Recommended Posts

Having got my scope's RS232 problem sorted yesterday, thanks to Steve at BC&F, I was able to give it 'test run' late last night.

Unfortunately, although there were lots of stars visble, there was a veil of thin high cloud, which somewhat 'took the edge' off things.

However, good enough to put the scope 'through it's paces'.

12" LX200R + f/3.3 FR. SXVH-H9C and 6x600 sec subs.

Dave, I like the colour, and as Martin says you've picked up some dust lanes - in spite of the high cloud. Well done.

M51 is on my list to do now I'm back in the UK. I'll need to practice a bit first as it's 4 months since I've used my astro gear in anger!.
