I can't resist using Olly's amusing name for this object!

This one was taken with an H-alpha modified Canon 350D on a Takahashi Epsilon 180ED with IDAS LPS-P2 filter from reasonably dark skies in Kent.  12 hours of total integration time in 5 minute exposures at ISO 800 over 4 nights:  30/31 July and 3/4 August.

Hehheh! This really is a nice piece of work. Tight stars, fine colours, depth in the dark stuff without noise or obvious smoothing. And, yes, you do need to see the big one to appreciate the quality.

I'm sure that the next time I advocate CCD over DSLR someone will to link me to this and say, 'What are you talking about?'

The Epsilon really does let DSLRs strut their stuff. F2.8. Wowzer.
