Pixinsight Super Bias

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I did the SuperBias routine for one of my data sets and to be honest I did not see any difference in the end result even though the Master Super Bias itself is a lot smoother than a normal Master Bias. I would like to know if any of you PI users have a different experience with this new tool.

Regards,

A.G

I got the mail and wondered myself, Harry might have some input.

I saw his post on the PI forum and I think that he had the same problem as I did that in order to see the Super Bias file correctly the same STF parameters from the Master Bias stretch have to be transferd to the Super Bias otherwise STF will show a Godzilla like Bias image.

Hi

If you already use a good quality bias ( I use at least 100 subs ) the gain will be minimal ( but still there)

The trouble I have is that My chip has partial column problems and this process does not handle this correctly :Envy:

so in its current form I can not use it  , but if you can I would use it something for nothing if you know what I mean

I will do some experiments when I get time

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the info, you are quite correct as I always use 101 Bias there may not be much gain but it won't hurt to try. As for the column defect they are supposed to be working on an up date I believe.

Best regards,
