1st Saturn this year (well pleased)

Thought I'd have a bash at saturn 2nite, as the moon was so bright, and I'm getting frustrated with not making any real progress with DSO's.

I was chuffed with the result, 900 images stacked in registax.

I think this is my best effort to date.

Comments/critisism appreciated.

Nice one Trudie. Was that captured at prime focus with a barlow or DSLR ?

Now if I knew what prime focus meant I'd answer, just to say it was done with spc900 onto ED80 , 900 frames at 10fps. Then stacked in registax (812 actually stacked).

Took another of 1500 frames but have'nt got round to processing yet.

Great capture , Trudie.

The ED80 can produce pretty good images of the moon/planets as well as DSO's. The HEQ5 can also guide well so your setup is a good one. I assume you used a barlow to get sufficient magnification?

Its never easy using 2 barlows , so you showed some skill getting Saturn in focus and on the camera chip.
