Hi Ian and welcome to SGL,

Have you considered second hand scopes as you can get some good bargains? I think a good choice for school telescopes would be a Skywatcher 200p or a second hand Tal1, the tal being really solid and available for around £50.

Try Astrobuysell I saw one on there recently.

You could also get in touch with a local club? They might be wiling to give a talk or two to three youngsters
