So after mounting my 200p on a heq5, i modded a lifecam 3000 for a bit of fun.

This is my first image of Jupiter.post-35244-0-94849800-1395346070_thumb.j

I dont totally understand wavelets other than it seems to intesify details. During the process, I seem to have produced step like lines on the surface. Any way to smoothen them out.

Any suggestions welcome.

Should i be using all wavelet channels. i heard 3-6 are the main ones.

I also heard AS2 was a better stacker, so tried that first and used registax to do the wavelets. seems a lot smoother now.

Thanks. Im happy with them.

I stacked best 80% of 500 frames. Can i expect to get more detail with more frames/ longer exposure.

Also, these are un-barlowed, so will that help?

Wow, nice work!

I also just finished modding Lifecam cinema, tried it on the moon, but it was too cloudy yesterday night.

I am astonished and getting excited that you are able to get such great details without using any Barlow lens!

I think most people find a webcam better with planets than a dslr.

The speed at which you capture the frames gets those fleeting moments when the atmosphere isnt interfering. Get enough of them and process in registax or autostakker.
