Can someone tell me why I cant see Betelgeuse has it finally exploded or has the moons light overpowered it

I've just had a peek and it's still there. Top left hand corner of the "keystone" shape of Orion. It's forming a nice triangle with Jupiter and the Moon this evening

I can see it clearly from my location ( west bromwich 22:26).

I can easily forgive the Moon because it's a natural object and it's fascinating to view in it's own right

It's man made light pollution that gets me down

you'll know when Betelgeuse goes supernova! We'll have a second moon for a while

I can see it... well I can't anymore because of the high cloud! However seeing it supernova would be awesome you'd definitely see it then

  Even if it already has gone supernova, we may have to wait another 600 years to see it.
