EQ5 mount Altitude Adjustment T-bolts

Hi

Got the scope out for the first time in a year or so last night 200P on an EQ5 motorised mount, its been store in the garage.

There are 2 t-bolts and only one is moving free, i can loosen it all the way, the other is turning about 3/4 either way and stopping, anyone know whats going wrong and how i can fit it, i presume i have to get into the head mount or something any advice, web pages or the like would be appreciated

It sounds like a bent bolt, they are quite soft steel.

Trying to remember back to my EQ5 days but the best place to get an idea of extracting the bolt is the Astronomy Boy website

Try a drop of penetrating oil first, it may just be that the threads have corroded a bit.

Sorry I should have said WD40 first, but I presumed you had tried that?

EQ3-2 as per sig or EQ5?

I set up a new to me EQ5 on Saturday, one other thing I would add, is remove everything from the mount, OTA + counter weights before trying to free the bolt.

Those small bolts are pushing all the weight of your kit if you don't strip it down first.
