Galaxy spotted near the Orion Nebula

A lovely clear night..

I have been trying to find galaxies in Orion...not an easy challenge!

Managed to pick up NGC 1762 the other night and today I went for a few more. NGC 1819 was just possible next to a mag 14 field star.

The highlight was to find the low surface brightness NGC 1924 which is just to the right of the Orion nebula.

Its pretty tough, has anyone else seen it?

Mark I guess you are enjoying your 14" scope. Never tried any of these galaxies and I note that they are not recorded in Ted Aranda's book of 3000 DSOs. However, looking at my Uranometria atlas I would imagine that it is easy to locate between the line of 3 stars but NOT easy to see.

Well done on getting them.
