The sun in Ha today 11 Jan 14

Yet another sunny day! That big ol' sunspot is still going strong, so here's a few snaps of some proms, the sunspot (AR1944?) and the sun. There's a few bands on the disk due to me not moving the image enough to average them out. I thought I'd leave them black and white as well. Captured with a QHY5 through a PST.

Lovely shots, Sam. A nice mix of images, and hopefully a taster for a sunny Saturday here! Some great proms. Is prom 2 near 1944? I'm hoping we'll see some fireworks when it's near the limb.

What is it that causes the banding with the PST??

Thanks for the comments. I don't know what causes the banding. It only started happening after I updated the driver, I should have left it alone as everything was working fine.
