Table of Scorpius from the Kalahari, Namibia

Boren

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Here's another image which was patiently waiting on my hard drive for processing, since our first venture to the Kalahari, Namibia, back in 2011.

From the open star cluster, NGC6231, located close to Zeta Scorpii, all the way through an endless sea of colorful stars embedded in a huge region of emission nebulae, to the Prawn Nebula (IC4628/GUM56).

I have included two version:

* Non-annotated version:

* Annotated version, pointing out the cat names of the main objects in the image:

You may also like to drop by the Prawn Nebula image, shot only two days earlier:

and the publication of this image as part of my story in Astronomy Magazine "Six nights under Namibia's dark skies":

I hope you like them, and any comments are, as always, very welcome.

Cheers,
Harel
