Synta are now onto this pointing alignment.

I went back to V3.27 and got far better alignment and pointing. Even EQMOD loves it! Now I can use either TSX, Astro Art5, Catres or Stellarium Scope.

Anyway, hopefully the newer Skyscan firmware will have better star alignment and pointing. Now if only they had a menu item called: ...'Press Enter when done for perfect alignment and pointing'

Setup:

EQ8 mount on its tripod

Celestron EdgeHD 8" with Celestron 0.7x Reducer (1422mm)

SSAG autoguider camera at prime focus

Data extracted from PHD Guiding logfile

Result:

max PE of +/-2.8 arcsec
