lightbridge replacement secondary

Hi folks

My secondary is going milky and needs replacing. Anyone out there know of a supplier of replacement mirrors or will I have to go direct to Meade.

No it does not need cleaning the mirror has deteriorated. I cannot find a single re-silvering service over here and I'm not sure that it can be re-silvered. I will give APM a try.

another option is measure it and see if you can get a used one. posting such a small mirror even to the UK would not be that expensive or risky. there must be someone willing to do this for you in the UK I'd think?

Orion Optics UK ship aboard and have a re-coating service.

Others in the UK would be Galvoptics Ltd., or Oldham Optical, but I've never used any of them, so others will have to comment on that.

Eventually sourced a replacement from an EBay seller over here http://www.ebay.de/itm/331069996428?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649. They can also be ordered direct from Meade Europe. When I removed the old mirror it was as I suspected useless. It was like looking at your bathroom mirror after a shower. can't wait to fit the new one at get the Dob back outside.
