My first reasonable Mars image

Tal 200K on an EQ6. 4X Imagemate and Toucam for capture. The seeing was quite wobbly so I couldn't get the focus as tight as I'd have liked.

Well done KK! I do like it. As you say it is out of focus but you can still see a lot of detail.

Nice one KK. It's good to see you having a crack at a planet again. I attempted Mars as well last night but ended up with nothing worth keeping. I don't think the conditions were that good to be honest. :?

As my own efforts were rubbish, I've spent a bit of time playing with yours. Hope you don't mind.

Stone me,KK! :shock: I reckon you must have a time machine attached to that scope. Brightened up a bit and that image could be a picture of Mars when it was 'wet'! Well,how I imagine it anyway. If you squint.

What with all the carp weather at the moment at least you have managed to get a image which is 100% more than i have been able too.

Its been a struggle to get decent images what with and and gales etc its surprising anyone is producing anything.

That's from Friday night? That was the first time I was sure that I could see features on Mars in my 12" Dobsonian, orange and green. I thought I could see a kind of "Two-Orange-Wings" pattern and I see it in your picture.
