one way to do it of course is to use your existing base as a router template. if you make it the same (maybe with a square footprint rather than round but ply would still be lighter even if you replicated it exactly) you could remodel the top of your base with a larger alt bearing and a rocker side like mine. something like the well crafted design masterpiece below. this would do two things, give you more control and also reduce the height of your rocker, making the whole thing more stable. even better, buy some SW tube rings and you have balance adjustment too.

Thank you for posting this, Moonshane! Reading with great interest as thinking of converting the 200p from EQ to 'AltAzDob' sometime in the near future.
