having not long got back from sgl8 today, and only having a few hours Saturday night of clear skies to try out my new Canon 1100d at last on a reasonable sky, i managed to capture 22, 2 minute subs and 20, 2 minute darks of M51 which was stacked in deep sky stacker and the r,g,b histogram aligned with the result below.

not done any other photoshoping as i have little idea how to use it properly, even so i`m very chuffed with the result so far.

As i understand it dark flats are exactly the same as flats, except you put the lens cap on the scope like you do when you take darks, and you take them at a fast exposure rate like flats. When you include dark flats you don't need bias frames.

I belive this is correct, It's what ive done anyway l.o.l.
