i had a go with my green laser pen the other day and to attach it to my 130 newt i just placed it on top of a sponge and used a stretchy strap to attach the sponge and lazer around the ota. centred the scope on jupiter and flicked the pen on and wiggled it left and right and moved the strap back and forward until it pointed at the right place. took about 10 seconds to align it.

I bought my headlight torch from ASDA £3.50 inc batts 1, 2, or 3 LED settings and a small rubberised torch 99p 9 x LEDS from Boyes found it too bright so unsoldered 8 LEDS and removed and saved for spares, cut a few layers of red plastic wrapping film from a kind florist to suit both.....cheap works a treat.

If only the rest of the kit required was as easy.

I'm all for ingenuity. One €1,99, 9 led small camping flashlight, and one €0,30 red celophane sheet (the rest will serve as a redscreen later), folded in 4 to dim down the LED brightness and taped with electrical tape. Not pretty, but very functional.
