Clear Skies At Last!

At last a clear sky with the possibility of more than a fleeting glimpse of the night sky. According to my notes, this is the first observable sky that i have seen since the 9th of December. In a nutshell, had a cold but enjoyable three hours from about 11.30 onwards. managed to view a grand total of 28 new Messier objects in one session. Awesome!! Top of the widh list was M101, which I have been looking for since i got my new scope. Will post a grand list on my blog later.

Sounds like an excellent night. I've had one other clear night since 9th December, but otherwise my observing opportunities have been equally thin.

I know we all curse the bad weather, but one good night like last night and all the curses and general discontent are immediately forgotten.

Last night was crystal here until about 12.30, then high clag rolled in. I had a look out at 4 , there was still some high stuff. It was great to hit over 30 galaxies in Ursa Major. Here's hoping for more clear skies,

good to hear from local observer. Yes, it was a good night. Probably my best nights viewing since I got the Dob. Still, it looks like Ive got my work cut out to get to your tally of Messier and NGC objects.
