Here's a quick animation of 217 images taken roughly hourly from the 8th to the 18th January , showing the development of the major active region that came and went while we were all , for the most part clouded out .

That really is superb work! It was big but it certainly died a death by the time it got to the west, I bet it won't come round a second time.

I didn't realise that the moon was up and getting on for full at that, it has been cloudy here for so long I forgotten what the sky is.

I felt exactly the same way last night when we had a brief clear spell. I can't actually recall the last time I had a decent view of the Moon. Or the Sun, come to that

Fantastic animation, we certainly haven't seen the sun since last week. Sunday looks promising here....

I hope the sudden emergence of a [nearly] full moon has everyone howling at it?
