Mod Old EOS 20D or New Rebel T3

Looking to have one of my cameras modified for AP by having IR/UV filter removed but Which one?

I've got a brand new EOS T3(1100D) and an old EOS 20D and can't make up my mind which I should modify.

Any suggestions please?

Have you tested them under the stars ? See which one produces the best results and modify that.

I suspect it'll be the 1100.

Live view can be very handy which the 20D doesn't have.

I agreed with both comments above. Try them as they are under the stars and see which one performs better. I would say that the 1100D will perform better though, it is a much newer camera. It has a larger sensor, with the newer Digic 4 processer( instead of the Digic 2), so it should handle noise better at higher ISO. It also has live view which really does come in handy.

The other question you need to ask yourself is, which camera would you miss more. What camera do you use for everyday photography? I know the white balance can be corrected to allow for the removal of the filter, but if the camera is damaged in anyway, which you you prefer to lose.

I would reccommend modifying the Rebel T3 (1100D) for AP - it has just what's required and is the better performing camera for AP.
