Orion Nebula - M42 - Nice end to the night.

I couldn't resist a few quick snaps of Orion as it shown brightly in the Eastern sky, as I packed up. Many more of these will be seen as the season goes.

Great stuff Doug, now, there is no faulting that one, lots of stuff reaching way out in there. Excellent image.

Are you using a filter of some sort Doug? Seems to be a bit of light ring around the image. Think I noticed it on Sculptor Galaxy too.

Hi Ron,

I'm not using a filter...But, do have on a Meade f6.3 FR. That might be the culprit for the ring...slight vignetting I suspect. My skills couldn't remove it all...Good eyes and attention to detail , Ron.

As has been said Doug, excellent core detail in there, well done!!

That vignetting in the corners, could easily be removed with a bit of 'air brushing' in P/Shop. Cheating I know, but then a bit of artistic licence never did any harm

Orion is getting nice and high for us here in Australia ATM. At 2:30am it's up at 45 deg or so... can't wait for the rest of the year.
