My first Horse Head ...

Hi all this is my first Horse head neb .....

100 x 60 sec lights

45 darks

no flats

no guiding and standard camera ie. no IR mod....

Quite happy with the pic, but I would like to try and get more out of the Horse head ... So i wonder if anyone can explane to me how to get more out of the pic without Alnitak taking over

Nice one MM so did you just use you're D200 for this without you're scope? If so, what lens did you use?

Very nice image You've done well with an unmodded DSLR

Removing the camera colour filter will increase the red sensitivity with respect to the white stars - that would help. Otherwise using an Ha filter will reduce the white very considerably while letting all the red Ha emission through. If you are using a Canon EOS camera, a clip filter is the easiest sort of Ha filter.

EDIT... Ooops... just noticed it's a Nikon - mentioned in your sig.
