Collimating screws?

My scope needs collimating so rarely, I always forget: -

Big screws collimating

Little screws locking

Is that correct?

Yep, unless you've got Bob's knobs, then the longer ones are the locking bolts.

you don't really need the locking ones and I would remove them if I had a SW scope.

if over tightened they can upset the collimation you have just done. make sure you check the collimation after tightening them if being retained.

Mines not a SW scope, but the principal is the same. I think the collimating screws are too compressed as they're not making any difference - the locking screws seem to be the ones doing collimating!

Looks like it will soon be time to invest in some of Bob's knobs and new springs!

I never do my locking screws up, just move then until they touch.
