My first Orion Spectra

My first image of B]etelgeuse and Bellatrix, early hours of Saturday morning. I think it was still a little low for a good observation, but some interesting lines.

Interesting with your Betelgeuse spectrum how the peaks and troughs seem to compress closer together towards the blue end of the spectrum. I wonder if that indicates the stars direction of travel in relation to us ?

Not sure about that. I have not really got to the stage of fully understanding the results. Have sorted out instrument response and now looking at normalising and then comparing specific points over a month to look for changes.

No nothing to do with radial velocities...just a mixture of resolution and molecular lines/ noise.......
