I have always been a fan of Orion Optics Newtonians, Invariably they have excellent mirror sets and are nice and light OTA'S a bit pricy when new though. I bid for this scope recenty on E-Bay and was pleased to pick it up for £150. It's basically brand new and came with a Zygo report showing 1/10th wave optics. Collimation was miles out with secondary way out of optical alignment , a quick fettle and it's bang on. Had it out a couple of nights now and to be honest it's performance is stunning gives my 5" Apo refractor a real run for it's money at a 10th of the cost! The longer focal length and smaller secondary make this an excellent tool on the moon and planets and excels on double stars.

Here's a few pics.

cheers

Dave

Excellent buy Dave - congratulations

1/10th wave optics for £150 can't be bad. I wonder if it would be worth optimizing it even more for planetary viewing by fitting curved secondary vanes ?
