James, I think it has something to do with 'it's stopped raining' finally although it's back raining again today.

Blimey Alexandra, you are having a rough week. It's hard to believe there's any rain left after the deluge of the last few days. Hopefully it's just a question of "an awful lot of rain" for you rather than floods and the risk of buildings collapsing as has been the case elsewhere.

I don't think it has stopped raining at all this week apart from a couple of hours yesterday, thankfully here in Cheshire we are used to the constant rain, we don't get floods, it's just permanently soggy

But it makes the grass green and gives us Cheshire cheese
