50mm 1.8f of milkyway

I have been out with my 50mm lens and taken this shot on a relatively cloudy night and was quite impressed with the result, you can still see a faint hint of cloud but it doesnt ruin the picture to much i think

Just shows how great these lenses can be. What camera was it? Can you state the ISO setting, time period and the F stop used?

By the way you should be pleased with the result. Well done.

multiple shots stacked with dss, 20 second exposures with 1.8f stop used, annoyed that the colours of the original havent uploaded with this picture i am using the canon 60d

And it gives me a good idea of what sort of sky coverage the 50mm f/1.8 gives, which is very helpful. Thank you.

did a check on this pic with the other i uploaded fov are deffo different this time lol

Certainly is I'd estimate the field of view in this shot to be about forty-five degrees across the diagonal, which I think I might be happy with.

If we are blessed with clear skies tonight i think i will go out and give anouther go with the 50mm and keep experimenting with it, as that shot ha d quite abit of cloud in it

If you don't have a remote one of theses will help, no camera shake and you get a make a cuppa tea while the camera does its work....
