Sagitarius Globular Pair

A couple of 'deep south' Sagitarius Globular Clusters imaged from Mid Wales using an Altair Astro Star Wave ED80 scope. Both are single, 120s unguided subs.

The small but beautifull NGC6642, seems to have creamy coloured stars, at a distance of some 26,0000 LY

Compare now to the nearby object and much larger M22 globular cluster which is less than half the distance at 10,000 LY

I'd guess an awful lot of UK astronomers don't often see M22. Not without leaving home, anyhow. Unfortunate, as it's quite an impressive cluster.

Thanks for all the positive comments. M22 is a real gem- much bigger in the FOV than I was expecting anyway. Must rate as one of the best globulars for us Northern Hemisphere observers?

Excellent comparison between the two globulars LJ. I've only ever seen M22 in binoculars and a breathtaking sight it was!
