The Sun white light 5 July 2012 - second solar image

Hi all,

This is my second attempt at imaging the sun and the first using a high frame rate camera instead of a DSLR.

Best 50% of 1000 frames stacked in Registax 6. I tried a quick process in Registax and in AstroArt but to be honest couldn't seem to improve anything (I had absolutely no idea what to do, mind!)

Thanks all - was cloud dodging but was suprised to get anything given the weather lately...

Ran through Registax with the best 5% of frames...

And with a fiddle with wavelets (not that I can see much difference!) Will have to look up some solar image processing tutorials!

There is quite a bit of detail in there. Personally I've had no luck at all with Registax6. Registax5 gives me some very odd effects - straight lines like a fold in the image.

I've downloaded AVIStack - which is not quite as nice on the GUI front, does seem to work very well.

Anyway back to you image, I downloaded a copy, ran it through R5 for the wavelets and to resize 200%. Then into PS for some colour.

Very Nice. You should be really proud of that!!!
