From my occasional browsing of ebay recently it seems to be a bad time to be selling (particularly) small aperture scopes. Given the weather and the lack of observing time available I guess that shouldn't be entirely surprising.

Is the Brian Cox effect wearing off do you think?

Sounds like it will be the biologists muttering darkly about his expensive locations and all that drivel soon. He's (just finished, I think) filming a new series, "The Wonders of Life" due to be shown this autumn. Perhaps it will be microscope sales that go through the roof this time?
