Very interesting. In 2011 the SEB virtually disappeared for visual observers for quite a time. Last opposition there were some very interesting features adjacent to the GRS in the re-instated SEB. Can't wait to see what the Autumn has in store for us on the great planet. Saturn is serenely beautiful but there is always something going on at Jupiter !

Very interesting. I wonder what caused such a disturbance in what is a relatively stable atmosphere (although small storms get swallowed up all the time).

With Jupiter being so close to the Sun, i wonder if the solar wind,radiation is the cause of this???????????????

Thats nothing......You should take a look at all the storms over the UK at the moment. I think we have our own Red Spot storm system. To be honest I cant wait until Jupiter is back and a good site to see.
