Next step in Barlows from a Tal?

Hi all,

Im just wondering (in case I see a bargain) what the next step up in Barlows is from my Tal?

Im hoping to start collecting Celestron X-Cell LX eyepieces so would be looking for a suitable barlow.

Maybe the Tal is good enough but just thought I would get some opinions.

The Celestron Ultima Barlow has a good reputation, but I don't have one myself.

I think I'd try them out with the Tal first and see what you think. Quite possibly any difference between the Tal, Celestron Ultima and GSO/Revelation barlows is going to be hard to spot. If the Tal looks to perform well with the Celestron eyepieces, I'd stick with it.

The XLs have a matching 2x and 3x Barlow that replaces the Ultima I believe ...

From experience with the TAL on my, er, TAL, and from looking through a few others at PSP last year, you're going to do well to get a noticeable performance without spending a lot of pennies - the TAL barlows (and plossls - the 25mm is one of my favourite EPs) punch well above their weight, IMHO.
