WA Ep ?

Help. After much deliberation and info collecting I decided to purchase a GSO/Revelation 32mm WA Pi. Problem:- THE UK IS OUT OF STOCK OF THE AFOREMENTIONED ITEM. And I don't particularly want to wait upto 6 weeks for one to be shipped from the other side of the world. Not a happy bunny!

As (unfortunately) I have not been gifted with a lot of patience I am now looking for a similar ep of same quality for around £40. Any ideas greatfully received. Thanks

Basically I just want a decent ep for dso's and some of my other contacts all suggested GSO. But as I said - EPIC FAIL

PLÖSSL 1.25? Telescope Eyepiece, 32 mm Focal Length on eBay!

but it isn't wide-angle... the GSO is only 52deg FOV

Just noticed on astro buy & sell there are 3x Antares plossl's for £40. Thats for all 3. 12.5, 32 & 40mm. Is Antares a reasonable brand ?

as John said... the GSO/Revellation/Adler/Ascension/others 2 inch will give you a wider FOV of 70deg for around the £50 mark

Since GSO make eyepieces for several manufacturers you could search out a Meade 32mm plossl eyepiece, Rother valley Optics.

Alternatively try Telescope Service, they do a large range of GSO bits branded under their own logo "TS".

Email them ask if they have one and ask the shipping, probably about 5 Euro.

There is a limit to the size in 1.25 fitting , over that there not very good, now all it needs is for somebody to post the size, assuming my memory is ok...

There is not much point going beyond 32mm in the 1.25" fitting in my opinion. A 40mm won't show more sky and the apparent field of view of 43 degrees appears rather narrow compared to the 52 degrees of a 32mm plossl.

In the 2" fitting you can have over 80 degrees of apparent field of course but to get this with quality costs dear.
