Overhead 5 minutes ago.

Was just outside with my bins having a quick look at Saturn. l just happened look upwards and directly overhead facing South. I saw a huge bright light directly overhead. I'd estimate it at about mag -4 or so. I wasn't sure what it was as there shouldn't have been anything that bright right overhead. Then after about 3 or 4 seconds it started to fade. It didn't move, but just faded. I noticed what looked like a Star when the bright light had gone and it's still there now. Any idea what I might have seen?

This was at 7.30pm too but South, but it didn't look like it was moving and when it faded there was a light about mag 4-5 in its place and also didn't look like it was moving either. However it wasn't twinkling so I agree, possibly an Iridium flare.
