What would you recommend/buy?

My lovely girlfriend says I can have £1500 to spend on a scope set up.

I've been looking at an HEQ5 GoTo mount and an ED refractor for AP.

Might be able to squeeze in a truss Dob too.

What would you buy with the money?

An HEQ5 with small apo (there are rivals to the ED80 now but that would still be on the shortlist) with an ST80 guidescope and QHY guide camera. I'd want dew heating gear, a Bahtinov mask, a reducer-flattener, cables, power supplies... Don't forget the little items. You have the software - Photoshop and/or Pixinsight? Filters. It does tend to be a longish list. And don't forget Making Every Photon Count.

Mount is most important so with that budget I would go for HEQ5. Then a 80mm Apo frac of some desccription.
