New to astrophotography, M42

Hello everybody,

I'm very interested in astrophotography and I hope to buy a CCD soon, currently I'm using a DSLR. I'm controlling my NEQ6 with an EQDir interface (EQMOD / ASCOM & Cartes du Ciel). My DSLR is controlled with Camera Control Pro 2 from Nikon and I use "long exposure noise reduction", some sort of auto dark subtraction.

That's a super shot, well done. Great detail right down into the trapezium, and even in that bright bit of nebulosity surrounding them.

Great picture of the nebula,,what type of scope are you using,,,i'm new to all this and just find it all amazing of whats up there in our skies,,i'm not ready for astro photo yet still finding my way the scope i have,,celestron 130eq,not the best i know but good enuf for starting off,,,Greg

A 10" f/4.8 Sky-Watcher newtonian.
