Mobile phone Moon

No there are no known mobile masts or 3G services on the Moon.

Whilst I was out over the weekend taking a few pics with my A607. I got a text message on my mobile and this got me thinking.

'I wonder if I could take a photo of the moon with the camera in the mobile?'

The camera is quite a good camera for one that is in a phone. I have used it at school sports days and the images were ok.

I did not hold out much hope but I thought it would be interesting to find out.

This is the result.

The image is not processed at all it is the original JPEG. The colour is due me have a neutral density filter in place

Have I discovered a whole new area of Astronomy.......only time will tell

It's a Nokia 6820. The one that flip open to show a full keyboard.

I've got the K750i 2mp camera. I'll give it a go tonight
