Binocular advice needed

20 x 50 might be a bit too much power unless you have a tripod with them...I would sya 10 x is best for general viewing of clusters and the like. For the moon 10 or 20 will be fine..but the planets need at least 75x so beyond anything any binocular will handle effectively..

I've got some no name brand 7x50's which my dad got in the old days.

I think they are superb for picking out areas of the sky. Being not so powerful means it's much easier to locate objects in the wide field.

I'd use them with some more powerful ones which I can use once I've located what I want to see with the 7x50's
