  1. Silly question, but I have just noticed this ‘packing’ in the base of my Skywatcher 250 flextube. Is this just packing which should be removed, or should I leave it there? I’m guessing it would interfere with the tracking, but I’m not sure.

  3. The Celestron sounds good, I will go and have a look. Thanks for your help.”
  4. I own a Skywatcher 250 (D =254mm F=1200mm) flextube and would like to upgrade the eyepieces. What do you recommend for visual Moon and planetary viewing?
  5. I currently view the Sun using a filter on the front of my telescope but would like to upgrade. I have been looking at dedicated solar scopes and wonder what you all think of the Daystar Solar Scout ss60.
  6. Having people touch your astro gear!.... I think I might have posted this once before a while ago but one day my partner and I decided to take my new telescope to a dark sky site for the first time. I was really excited as I had only had the scope for a couple of months and it was my first chance to see what it could do. So I clambered up into the loft to retrieve the original box and packing safely saved to ensure a safe journey. The day dawned a few days later and I duly loaded the car and we set off on our 4 hour journey to Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. That night we found a nice dark desolate spot and we were all set. I took the box from the car, opened it up and found.........books!!! She thought it would be a good idea to use the box to take old books to the charity shop which she planned to do when we got home.
  7. If you were going to purchase one eyepiece to use with a Skywatcher 250 Flextube for Lunar and Planet visual viewing, which one would it be?
  8. Love the space stuff on the walls...
  9. According to the invoice it is a Skywatcher Skyliner 250PX FlexTube Synscan GO-TO Dobsonian.
  10. I use Clear Outside too. It is not looking good.
  11. All collimated, cleaned and ready to go but there is nothing to see!
  12. Just ordered a Skywatcher Evostar 90 as a grab and go telescope. I want to do a lot of pavement astronomy so want to show people what they can see with a reasonably priced, entry level telescope. Arrives on Tuesday. 😀
  13. Do you mean that the star I bought and had named after me isn’t really mine!!
  14. Thank you. That is just what I wanted to know. I am taking mine out to do some pavement astronomy.
  15. I have a 10” Skywatcher 250 Flextube . What eyepieces do you recommend for viewing the Moon both in total and close up? It can take both 1.25” and 2”.
  16. I have a pair of meade 10x50's and a pair of celestron 25x70's and am impressed with both.
