The Starfire would make an excellent finder on this baby! This person bought the 32'' for himself and the 18'' for his daughters

Surely a nice Mak-Newtonian will produce as good a result as the Starfire and leave plenty of dosh for you to donate to my scope fund :)

Surely a Mak_Newtonian is not going to be as good as a an unobstructed refractor, such as the following, which is in the right ball park:

Nice but.....

Something I dont get with refractors, well more to the point the Spec they are made to.

If its aimed at imaging why so slow? if its aimed at visual why so fast?

I look at many refractors and scratch my head with this.

Surely a Mak_Newtonian is not going to be as good as a an unobstructed refractor....

Have you tried one ?

My Intes MN61 mak-newt was certainly as good as an ED120 refractor and often matched a Chromacor fitted 150 F/8 doublet. Superb scopes
