Horsehead Nebula, Single Shot AZ Dob

Another single shot, this time 60secs exposure time, ISO 1600, Pentax K-x.

I know horsehead can not be seen that well, need to stack few of them, but....it's there

some photoshop and noise ninja plugin, feel free to tweak!

You mean, like this ? And that is with a 10inch Dob ? A bit noisy, which I tried to smooth out with a noise filter, but that is a remarkable image considering 1 60sec exposure !

thanks for tweaking, yes it's from a 10'' dob. its noisy cos i did 1600 ISO because am on AZ mount and long exposures are not the best for that type of mount.

Thats very impressive well done on that capture.... If you get that sort of tracking, you should try taking about an hours worth and stacking them.... you'll be amazed

I think single frame shots are great. A lot of fun can be had just seeing what can be found lurking in the frame........... heres a quick lunchtime tweak........ lots more in there I'm sure.

Horsehead is right next to the first star of Orions Belt, that correct?

Yes, Cloudwatcher, you pushed it a LOT further than I thought you could. I guess I was thinking about what I have seen through a rather large dob and thinking that was about what could be gotten out of that data. Excellent job ! I still have a lot to learn about image processing !
