Triangulum Galaxy M33

I thought I would try imaging M33, it's quite noisy as usual but probably normal for 10 mins on a dslr! 17 x 10 mins, darks and flats subtracted in DSS and processed in PI. At least I have caught NGC 604 quite well!

nice, but like you have said, bit too noisy. have you done any darks? wonder if you would get better result doing 34x5 minutes?

I need to get soem more subs for mine, I think this target is a 8hr minimum.

Have you thought of using cold physio packs to cool the camera?

There's a lot that's good in the image. Maybe reframe it a tad though?

Thanks guys, it seems I will be adding quite a few more hours of data. Yes the framing is off a bit, as for the cooling I'll have a look at these cooling packs you mention Olly. Not too sure about using 5 min subs, maybe someone has an opinion?

I used 5min subs with my DSLR 450D recently for my M33 over 5 hours. I have always been told that the SNR steps up a lot with DSLRs if you go over 5mins.

Thats pretty good, framing could be a bit better but its more than what ive ever got. I always seem to struggle with M33, quite tricky.

Its a dim target overall from what I have read, I was disappointed that 10 min subs made very little difference over 5 mins subs with the same overall time

Thanks for the info, I'm going to try 5 min subs, the next clear night. If I can get even half the result Carole has then I will be happy! Could I combine the 10 and 5 min subs?
